In my study, I picked up some cases for analysis, contacted and interviwed some insiders in these cases, and put them in my thesis as case studies.
News
In May 2025, when I began considering establishing this platform, I came across an update on issues with B.C. farmland. Hatzic Valley has been bothered by illegal industrial dumping.
Hatzic Lake is a major study object during my study program at RRU for the course of Governance Innovations for Sustainability. My cohorts, allocated in 7 teams, led by the course instructor, searched and researched on almost all stakeholders, focusing on how to address the flood and climate issues in the Hatzic Lake area.
It is heartbreaking to see that this region is faced with a new devastating challenge. News link: Locals concerned about illegal dumping on farm land in Fraser Valley – Hatzic Valley has seen 37 stop-work orders related to unauthorized dumping
In my interview with Mr. Harold Steves, the co-founder of the ALR legislation, he said that Richmond lost hundreds of acres of farmland due to mismanagement of the B.C. provincial government within ten years. To this date, he is still worried about the preservation of B.C. farmland, the security of food supply, and the environmental sustainability of this province.
